Surgery EOP

Doesn't feel like my end of posting exam is tomorrow.

4 weeks of surgery gone by just like that!
:/
Doing last minute cramming now.

If you love me, please pray that I get a good case tomorrow.

Pray that its an easy one.
Pray that he (Dr Ismail) doesnt ask me anything too difficult.
Pray that I can answer all his questions.

Sigh, all this fluid therapy and pre-op assessment stuff isn't sticking in my head at all.
ughh.
pray he doesn't ask me any of that!

Wish me luck you guys!

Funny Story

(not really but whatever)

This actually happened last weekend, but I'm blogging about it now, because.
Well, because of reasons ok.

So remember how I wanted so badly to watch London Paris New York, and my brother wouldn't take me?

So we're sitting at the dining table and I'm trying my level best to convince him to go watch it (we all know how that turned out)....

TheIdiotBrother : Why do you want to watch it so badly anyway? Who's in it??

Me : ALI ZAFARRRR YOU IDIOT ALI ZAFARRRR Ali Zafar.

TheIdiotBrother : Who on earth is that!?

Mum : That Pakistani singer...you know, the one your sister is so in love with.

Me : What.

TheIdiotBrother : What.

Mum : You knowwww, the one she's been raving about! She burnt that CD for you remember? You've got his songs playing in your car.

TheIdiotBrother : Oh. him. he acts?

Me : YES YOU IDIOT I'VE BEEN SAYING THAT SINCE THE BEGINNING Yes!

TheIdiotBrother : But he's Pakistani, we're Indian we don't like Pakistanis.

Me : *actually splutters in disbelief*

Mum : That's true.

Me : That is not true! What is wrong with you people it's not like you were born in India or anything!

Mum : huh. That's also true.

TheIdiotBrother : Why do you like him so much anyway?

Mum : I think she wants to marry him.

Me : What.

TheIdiotBrother : But he's muslim, you'd have to convert!

Mum : True.

Me : Omg you guys he's married already!

TheIdiotBrother : SEE.

Mum : He can marry again though.

Me : ...yes, he can marry 4 times.

Mum : More, if he divorces the first few wives.

*awkward pause*

Me : OKAY YOU'RE BOTH COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT HERE ALL I WANT TO DO IS WATCH HIS MOVIE OKAY NOT MARRY HIM.

*another awkward pause*

Me : I mean I want to marry him but not this weekend. So can we go watch his movie?

TheIdiotBrother : No.

Also, this morning, my mother told me to lose weight so she can start introducing me to people.
Like.
Prospective-husband people.

I'M NOT EVEN TWENTY TWO YET DAMMIT.

Ugh.

Red-Handed

So I was finally on the verge of finishing my Selectives report.
FINALLY.
After putting it off for like two months.

Finished my elective report yesterday.
FINALLY.
And did most of my selective report today morning before I had to take my mum to the hospital.(but that's a whole other story)
Then I came back, did a bit more of the report,
and I had just the body of it left...you know the part where you describe in detail exactly what happened during the electives...
...and that part's pretty easy to write, because I did alot of stuff in Galway.

So, since I knew I would be able to write that part up pretty quickly,
I decided to take a "break" and watch this week's episode of Once Upon A Time.

I love Red Riding Hood.
I love her.
How gorgeous is she!?

But oh my god.
The ending.
Oh my god.
The wolf part.
Oh my god.
My emotions.
My EMOTIONS.
And the heart.
And the box.
And the fingerprints.
AND OH MY GOD THE WOLF.
AND PETER.
AND NOOOOOOO.
AND UGH WHY DOES THIS SHOW NEED TO BREAK MY HEART IN EVERY SINGLE EPISODE WHY WHY.

This was by far one of the best episodes,
and it's definitely replaced Episode 3 as being my favourite.

BUT OH MY GOD ALL MY FEELINGS.

...so now I can't concentrate on my report so I'm going to go sniffle into my purple squishy blankie ok.

I think I'll just stick to watching Friends.
No more emotional roller-coaster drama series. ok. no more.

London Paris New York. Finally!

FINALLY WATCHED LONDON PARIS NEW YORK TODAY!

And no, they didn't start playing it in a theatre near yours truly.

I didn't even watch it in a theatre. -_-
And I wanted to, so badly too.
Was actually supposed to go on Friday (since we had the day off) and since my dad was going into KL anyway so he could drop me off at the nowhere that is Capsquare,
but my mum was all like NOOOO WAIT FOR YOUR BROTHER HE'LL TAKE YOU ON SUNDAY.

And I was like No I don't trust him.

But she insisted.
So I agreed.
And then I asked him about it today, and he's like No. I don't want to go watch a hindi movie.

...

Then I begged.
And begged.
And begged some more.

And then I beg my mother, and she's like You know, you shouldn't force people if they don't want to watch a movie.

AKSLJSKDFJSFHJH.
WTF.
I DIDN'T WATCH IT ON FRIDAY BECAUSE YOU SAID YOUR STUPID SON WOULD TAKE ME.
I'M NOT ASKING YOU TO BLOODY WATCH IT WITH ME, JUST TAKE ME TO KL.
OR LIKE FUCKING LET ME DRIVE MYSELF THERE.

You won't let me drive into KL, and now no one will take me either??

I could've just gone on Friday!

I actually cried about it a bit in the afternoon.
I've been waiting for so long for this ok.
And it's been such a shitty week and I was looking forward to ending the week with this.

Finally caved in in the evening and decided to look for links to watch it online.
Sans subs,
and a rather poor copy,
but it was worth it.

I really couldn't wait anymore ok what with all the reviews and all.

I loved the movie.
Loved it. :3

There were hardly any other supporting cast besides Ali and Aditi,
and they carried the film off surprisingly well by themselves.
You hardly notice that there isn't anyone else, until someone actually appears and it's like omg. supporting actor omg.

Loved the London bit, the dialogues were gold :D

Paris was rather dark and intense and all of that.
I hated Aditi a wee bit during the Paris bit.

But the New York bit....so cuteeee!
And the Hudson River scene that absolutely everyone has been raving about completely surpassed my expectations.
It was epic alright.
And the ending was so cute I actually squealed. :3

As before mentioned, this week has been rubbish.
Don't want to talk about it.

Also, I've decided I'm having a love affair with my new squishy purple blankie.
(new purple fleece blanket)

Yep.

I guess there won't be any more London Paris New York-related posts after this.
mm-hmm.

Oh,
I went to get my harmonium yesterday, just felt like playing it suddenly,
and found it behind my veena, with a suitcase planted right on top of it.

A bloody fucking suitcase.
Which belongs to my brother.
On my harmonium.

JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO RESPECT FOR YOUR STUPID INSTRUMENTS DOESN'T MEAN YOU DISRESPECT MINE.
ASSHOLE.

Thankfully the suitcase was empty, or there'd have been some damage done to the harmonium.
Thankfully there isn't any damage.
Thankfully I keep it covered with a cloth so there aren't any scratches.

BUT STILL.
SO FUCKING MAD.

I hate my brother.

I really do.

Lots of hatred being churned out the past few posts eh?
I don't know when I turned into this.

First Week

Hello!

I've honestly been wanting to update since Wednesday, but every time I think of sitting and typing out my thoughts, I just get so laaaaazy..
(see this proves my theory about me only blogging when I'm procrastinating something else. When I have nothing to do, I procrastinate on blogging. yep)

Plus, Friends is a horribly, horribly distracting show, my goodness.
I'm done with Season 1! In 4 days ok.
That's like an average of 6 episodes a day.
And I know, for a normal person, that would add up to 3 hours spent in front of the laptop watching the show,
but you see, when I watch a show, it goes something like this :

Start watching episode.
Pause after two scenes.
Check twitter.
Check fb.
Reblog a few posts on tumblr.
Update twitter.
Continue watching episode.
Something funny happens.
Pause.
Update twitter.
Check for replies.
Check fb.
Continue watching.
Two scenes later, pause again.
Check twitter.
Check fb.
Check tumblr.
Continue watching.
*rinse repeat cycle*

It can take me up to two hours just to finish a 20-minute episode.
No lie.

My favourite character is Joey! :3
I always thought he'd be just plain dumb,
but he's not. quite.
I mean, he is a bit slow, and a total bimbo, but in such an adorable way that isn't at all annoying.

Oh Joey. (<3)

In other news,
I haven't gotten any studying done at all, nor started on my Selective/Elective reports,
but I went through some of the seniors' reports,
and judging by the amount of bullshit required to meet the 2000-word quota, I should be able to get them done within an hour or so.
:D

We had University Day yesterday,
to celebrate IMU's 20th Anniversary!
20 years of *cough*excellence*cough*.

I thought it'd be horribly boring, and we'd grumbled most of the week about having to turn up for it,
but it turned out pretty okay.
I mean, it's still unfair that it wasn't compulsory for the other disciplines besides medicine, but then again, we wouldn't have all fit anyway.
But I think it was horribly disrespectful of the juniors not to turn up in full force.
I mean, the Sem10s turned up! All the way from Batu Pahat too!
And most of us Sem9s turned up.
Why couldn't the juniors?
Gits.

We reached at 8.15ish, because we were worried about not having parking,
but thanks to the juniors not turning up, there was so much parking space on the hill.
-_-
And then they had their team building thing going on,
which involved most of the juniors and Bukit Jalil lecturers running around aimlessly (well that's what it looked like ok) on a Treasure Hunt.
We hung around for awhile, before we realized that the Seremban lecturers had escaped to have breakfast in the library,
so we went and sat next to them.
Us Seremban folk do not run around buildings.
ahem.

Went and saw the cadaver while we were at it.
(The juniors have a cadaver wtf)
To be honest, the cadaver being there seems pretty pointless, considering it's in a glass box and there's nothing labeled on it.
I don't quite see the purpose of having it there, but it's still pretty cool I suppose.

hm.

Then, after they were done with their 'Treasure Hunt' they had the official launch.

Tan Sri's speech was a bit wtf.
I didn't see the connection between anything he was saying to the whole '20th Anniversary' issue.
It sounded more like he was giving us a lecture on human evolution, to be perfectly honest.
So after his horribly boring monologue (during which Prof Ammu -organizing committee chairperson, mind you- fell asleep) they gave out awards to the lecturers.
Awards for Longest Serving Lectures, and for some Personal Development thing.

They announced Dato' Kanda's name first! (although we all knew it was coming)
And Prof Elango (he got two awards awwww :3)
It surprised me quite a bit that Dato' Siva hadn't served as long as DK and Prof Elango though.
o.O
And good lord, what on earth possessed him to wear that neon green shirt!?

Oh wait.
Before the awards were given out, they had this video thing about how IMU expanded from a campus in PJ to the campus in Bukit Jalil.
They switched off all the lights in the auditorium, obviously, so that we could all see the video clearly,
and then just before they switched the lights on again,
they released the balloons that were hanging from the ceiling,
and they dropped right on our heads!
In the dark ok.
I was like HOMAIGOD THE SKY IS FALLING!
Then they switched on the lights and we discovered that we were almost completely submerged in balloons.
-_-
That was fun though.

yesh.

Something else that happened yesterday....London Paris New York got released!

aaaaah.

I have a sad, frustrated story, regarding this though.
I'd been waiting for SO long for this movie to come out,
and this whole week, I'd been obsessively checking the websites for TGV, GSC and MBO cinemas, praying that they'd show it here,
and none of those cinemas indicated they wee going to play LPNY.

I think I spent about 3 days in depression because I really really really wanted to watch Ali on the big screen ok.

And then Thursday-ish, the reviews for the movie came out from all those movie critics,
and THEY WERE SO GOOD.
I mean, they mentioned the movie had minimal flaws here and there, but most of them ended on this note : "If for nothing else, watch for Ali Zafar, that man has got talent"

AKSJFHJFHDJFSDKLJSFKFDH.

My poor heart.

And then...
AND THENNNN,
yesterday, after getting back from Uni Day,
I decided to check the websites again,
(mostly out of habit, since I'd been doing it the whole week)

And this is what I see :

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

I swear, I just screamed out loud in my room and jumped up and down for a bit.

And then,
I click on it to see if I could make reservations for the weekend,
and then I realize they're only playing it in Capsquare.

Capsquare.

Okay.
First of all, WHERE THE HELL IS CAPSQUARE!?

ARGH.

Obviously, (after research on Google Maps) Capsquare is in bloody KAY ELL, the land of the most impossible traffic jams and minimal parking spaces,
AND,
the LRT/KTM stations are quite a distance away, and I do NOT fancy walking around in KL ok.
Not that anyone would go with me to Capsquare via public transport either.
-_-

I did consider trying to brainwash my brother into taking me,
but all shows for Saturday were fully booked (wtf am I not the only one who wants to watch this movie so badly?),
and on Sunday, there are available shows, but we're having this stupid gathering to celebrate my sis-in-laws birthday...she gets back from HK today. yay.

...so I'm just sitting and hoping and praying that they start showing it in TGV Bukit Tinggi or Pyramid by next weekend so I can go watch.

Please, God. Please.

I have no hopes of them showing it in Seremban, so.
Next weekend it is.

Or at least, let GSC show it!

PLEASE.

Or I'll cry.
I really don't want to have to wait til it comes out on DVD, and I don't want to watch it online because it'd be poor quality and they may not have subs.

sigh.

So upsetting ok.

Watched an Ali Zafar interview day before yest,
and in the middle of it he started crying.
At first I thought it was a bit wtf, because it was a rather odd reason to cry,
but after 30 seconds I caved in and started sniffling and flapping my hands in front of my face to stop myself from crying along with him.

I am such a sap.

On a completely different note from all the notes above,
first week of Surgery was rather fun.
We're awfully free because we're stuck in 3B for a whole month, and we're assigned beds, and it's not like the patient turnover in the surgical wards are very high,
so yeah.
And the lecturers are all surprisingly very nice this time.
:)
I'm not sure if they've become nicer or we're just more used to them by now.
I think it's a bit of both.
I think in Sem6 they were intimidating and hardcore because they wanted us to buck up and get used to the system,
and now they just want to fine-tune our skills.
It's nice.
Imagine bracing yourselves each day for epic doses of sarcasm, and then turning up for class and having the lecturers be nice...pleasant surprises every day!

Don't like my group, but oh well.
I've had to deal with worse people.
I mean, I don't care if you're lazy or you don't do your work or your presentations are sloppy,
but do NOT push your workload to me.

I fucking hate it when people do that.

Idiots.

Other than that, I've had a pretty good week,
hopefully next week is good,
hopefully they start playing LPNY at a cinema that I have access to. :3

I shall go back to watching Friends now.
:)
