Mid-Holiday Blog Post

Blogging time!
...because I'm supposed to be studying right now, and we all know that means (for me) it's the perfect time to blog instead.


I'm going to apologize
(I've been doing this very often lately)
for all the rant-ish posts of late.
It's not that I just have things to rant about all the time nowadays,
I mean I do want to blog about other things in my life,
like the Avengers,
or TOM HIDDLESTON YOU GUYS TOM HIDDLESTON,
or like what happened in class the other day,
or.. you know, just random stuff.

But the internet in Seremban is craaaaaaaazy slow,
and it takes more than a minute to upload a single picture into a blog post, and half the time it doesn't even upload, and I have to keep refreshing/reuploading and it annoys the heck out of me.

Which would explain why my blog posts of late have been picture-and-gif-free.



And I mean, if I wanted to write about the Avengers and all, I couldn't not put pictures. Where's the fun in that?!

So I don't blog.

Except when I need to let off steam somewhere. Because rants don't need pictures to back them up.



So yeah.
Long-winded apology over.

Hardly been blogging this sem.
Three months (and a bit more) in, and we've already finished Surgery, Paeds and Int Med.

Int Med was a horror.

And next up is Gynae!
yaaaaay. not.
ugh so not looking forward to meeting the monster of my nightmares. (coughDatoSivacough)



We've got a one week break in between (right now).
Very much needed break.
Well deserved, too, if I do say so myself.


And I've spent the first four days of it doing....absolutely nothing.
Literally.
I wake up at 11ish everyday (I DON'T KNOW WHY I SET MY ALARM FOR 8 BUT I JUST CANNOT WAKE UP OMG)
and then eat lunch,
and then fall back asleep in front of the tv because there's never anything good on,
and then wake up and go online,
mostly tumblr, too placate all my Tom Hiddleston feels (I love him, you guys. I do. I love him)
eat dinner,
go back on tumblr,
tweet like mad so that people are aware of my lack of a social life,
and then maybe watch a movie (Tom Hiddleston movies obviously)
and then go to bed.

mm-hmm.


AND IT'S ALREADY WEDNESDAY!
ARGHHH.



I mean, it's not that I should be freaking out about not studying (I should, I really should),
but it's also that I'm not doing anything.
Haven't gone out anywhere,
haven't watched any proper movies (Hiddles had some shit movies ok)
haven't touched my piano or guitar or anything that I've been planning to do since sem started,
haven't picked up a storybook and just read for the fun of it.

Oh, but I did try reading The God Of Small Things,
because the Bwoy (prev known just as the Boy) was reading it,
and I remembered I had a copy of it lying around somewhere, so I decided maybe I'd read it too.

...never made it past the first page.

No really,
This is how it starts :

...I have no idea where she even plans to go with this story.

Quite honestly, if I'd been browsing through books at a bookshop, and I came across this one, I'd have read the first paragraph, closed it, put it right back on the shelf and continued on.



Which reminds me, I MUST rant about the quality of bookstores nowadays.

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MPH?

HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN THE NEW MPH IN MID VALLEY?

WHY DID THEY MOVE IT?

WHY DID THEY MAKE IT SO INCREDIBLY SMALL?


MPH Mid Valley was by far my favourite bookstore ever okay.
It was so huge, and there were places to sit and read, and a cafe, and a whole section just for music books, and...it was like dreamland for me. I loved going there.
AND NOW THEY'VE JUST MOVED TO MAKE WAY FOR UNIQLO?
WHAAAAAT.


And the new MPH is so bloody tiny I wanted to throw a tantrum when I first walked in!

And Popular is just full of Chinese books okay.

And Borders and Kinokuniya are too bloody far for me to frequent. ugh.
WHY CAN'T WE HAVE PROPER BOOKSTORES?


Okay. Rant over.



I want a library.
In my house, I mean.
Like in all those Jane Austen novels.
Just one room, dedicated to books and nothing else.
With comfy couches, and huge windows so there's lots of light.

I'd probably live in there and never go to work for the rest of my life or something.

But I want that. That's my white-picket-fence dream.






(I'm sorry, pretty home libraries are my weakness)





Well.
So I've rambled on long enough in this post.
I'll try to post more the remaining few days I have free before I have to go back to the hellhole that is IMU.

uh-huh.



I'm going to end this with something my niece said the other day.

"I don't have to learn malayalam! I'm going to marry Justin Bieber, he doesn't speak malayalam!"

I worry about that child.






Also!
Yay! Watching Avengers again on Friday!

Actually didn't like it very much the first time (but then I just watched it for Loki, mind you),
so this time I'm going to try and see if I can focus on everybody else in the movie for a change.

Failing that,
I can just drool over Hiddles all over again.

Can't go wrong.
