The 20 Steps To Effective Studying
according to Vidya Pillai
Step 1 : Decide to study.
Step 2 : Tweet about it.
Step 3 : Decide what to study.
Step 4 : Tweet about that too.
Step 5 : Hunt for textbook, notebook and stationery.
Step 6 : Rearrange desk to create more space for studying.
Step 7 : Move laptop out of the way.
Step 8 : Place textbooks in middle of desk to begin.
Step 9 : Realize you have no study music.
Step 10 : Push textbooks out of the way, pull laptop to centre of desk again and open iTunes.
Step 11 : Start compiling a playlist of instrumental songs.
Step 12 : Listen to each song in turn to make sure there is nothing too upbeat or loud that could interfere with thinking process.
Step 13 : Realize 1 hour has passed.
Step 14 : Check twitter one last time, close all tabs, close iTunes, and then realize you have conveniently forgotten to save the study playlist.
Step 15 : Begin compiling music again.
Step 16 : Go on youtube to search for more music. Fall in love with random youtube artists and listen to everything they've ever uploaded.
Step 17 : Take a walk because it is unhealthy to have been sitting in front of a laptop for 3 hours.
Step 18 : Rearrange desk again because the layout obviously isn't conducive for studying. Feel really tired after that.
Step 19 : Take 20-minute power nap. Wake up 3 hours later.
Step 20 : Decide the whole thing was a hopeless endeavor anyway and abort mission.
This post was weak attempt at satire,
because I'm in a foul mood today and it's already Thursday and I haven't touched a single page of any of my textbooks.
I am angry at myself,
and yet not quite willing to begin studying.
yes.

Procrastination is a horrible disease, I feel sorry for you. :-P
ReplyDeleteGod, the power nap never works, huh? I just can't sleep for 20 minutes. It HAS to be 2 hours. At least. Dunno why.
