Avengers and The Beaniplex

SO.
GUESS WHAT I DID TODAY.

(I mean, it's not like the post title gives it away or anything right?)

OKAY.
SO.

TODAY.
Went to meet up with Jea Mie (also a co-author of this blog, for those of you who don't know), to ...wait for it...watch Avengers for the second time!

(Watched Dark Shadows again too, but its still blehh the second time around so we're not talking about that)

Because.

Well.
Hiddles. :3

yes.

AND.

THE CINEMA LAYOUT IN PYRAMID HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED.
I felt like an outsider...I didn't know they changed it. :(

What on earth is "The Club" btw?

OH OH BUT.

THEY HAVE A BEANIPLEX.

A BEANIPLEX.

A CINEMA WITH BEAN BAGS INSTEAD OF REGULAR SEATS.

HOW COOL IS THAT?
So comfy!

Here, I flicked a picture off the TGV website (because I'm not one of those bloggers who whips out a camera everywhere they go ok) so you guys can see what it looks like :

Its like there's one huge bean bag for two people.

And its HUGE, so you have lots of space, and you're pretty much shut off from the people in the other seats (except for the person you're sharing your bean bag with),
and if you sit at the side, like we did today, then you get even more privacy!

And the rows are spaced out, so you have alot of leg room.

I stretched my legs out completely, and still couldn't reach the seat in front of me.

WHICH MEANS, and this is the most important part,

you can talk all you want in the cinema to your seatmate without bothering the others watching the movie!

I did
not shut up the entire movie today ok.

Ultimate couple seat, yo!

If I get a boyfriend at any point in time within in the next decade, I'm dragging him to the Beaniplex for an action flick.

Of course, there's the initial discomfort you get when sitting on a bean bag for the first time.
You have to do the whole wriggle-your-butt dance so you can get into a comfortable position.

It's also horribly low, so I wouldn't recommend it for people with back problems.
But the fun part is being able to kick off your shoes, push your handbag to the floor by your feet, and completely sprawl out.

At one point I was almost flat-out sprawling, and since we were sitting right at the back, we were above the screen so I didn't even have to lift up my head to see what was happening.
Blissssss.

And then whenever Hiddles (bb!) was on screen, I could just curl up like a cat and bask in his prettiness.

I loved it.

Almost tempted to demand we watch
every movie
from this day on in the Beaniplex.
Only drawback is its RM19...that's almost what you pay for a 3D movie, right?

Once in awhile is okay though.

Now,
on to the Avengers.

(you knew this was coming)

Warning : If you do not in any way find Loki/Tom Hiddleston (who plays Loki) attractive, then stop reading now.

Okay, so the first time I watched the Avengers, I didn't quite like it.
I thought it fell flat.
Text Color

Of course, I'd never watched any of the individual superhero movies, aside from Thor.
And that too, I watched on the plane to Ireland, so it wasn't exactly the clearest copy in the world.

I'm going to digress a little bit here and talk about Thor (the movie) first instead.

I don't usually watch superhero movies.
The only reason I watched this one was : Josh Dallas. (He's Fandrall in Thor. Not sure if I spelt it right)

Thor is an idiot.
I loved Loki in Thor...honestly, for the first half of the movie I thought it was Jared Leto playing him, but wtv.. and I was very very upset when they made him the villain.
Stupid Thor.
Stupid Odin.
Poor bb Loki.

But again, thanks to the sound quality and the video quality, I never really understood why he did what he did.

And then of course I went to Ireland and had the time of my life and forgot about Loki.

Until they were promoting the Avengers.
And I saw Loki as the villain and I was like
asldksjfksjgsdgh so cool ok we have to watch this.

I had no idea who the
superheroes even were omg.

But yes.
So we went for Avengers about two weeks ago, and I LOVED all the Loki scenes,
but the overall movie just didn't do it for me.

In retrospect (this is Rachel's hypothesis), it was probably because the only person I knew and liked in the movie was Loki,
so I found scenes without him in it awfully bland.

Which made an awful lot of sense, honestly.

So, I watched Thor again,
And then I watched Captain America (HOW ADORBZ IS CHRIS EVANS)

...didn't watch Ironman, but Robery Downey Jr is awesome enough that I didn't need to watch it before Avengers again.

And then, naturally, being me,
I watched a shitload of interviews.
Fell even more in love with Tom Hiddleston.

Up until then I was only in love with Loki,
but after those interviews...dammit. Hiddles!
(AND JEREMY RENNER IS MY SPIRIT ANIMAL OK)

Basically submerged myself in everything Avengers,
and then finally went to watch it again today.

I
LOVED IT THIS TIME.

I felt like a 5-year old omg.
I bet I was all starry-eyed the whole time. Sure felt like it.

This time, I actually loved all the other characters as well,
and I'd watched it once before already,
so I could really pay attention to how the characters interacted with each other, and all the dialogue, and the action,
and
omg I loved it.

And I was saying all of Hiddles dialogues along with him in the first few scenes,
until Jea Mie was all
SHUSH
so then I just mouthed them along with him in the other scenes.

Favourite scenes :
(unabashedly stealing pics/gifs from tumblr here...all credits to their rightful owners, of course)

The first one where Loki appears on Earth.

The one in Stuttgart where he walks down the staircase like a total diva and that incredibly sexy way he just flicks that specter up when he's about to whack the other guy.

The fight between Ironman and Thor, which Cap has to break up.

AND YOU GUYS THAT SWAG LOKI HAS WHEN HE'S BEING LED TO CAPTIVITY.
GAH.
SO MUCH SEXY IN ONE WALK.

Also, that one time where Hawkeye shoots an arrow at Loki and he catches it, with this Bitch, Please look. (FAVOURITE OK)

I wish I could say I hated that scene where Hulk smashes Loki,
but I don't.

I laughed like mad the first time I saw it,
I laughed like mad again today.
And then felt guilty afterward.
(but then there's this one interview where Hiddles says that he had to pretty much throw himself about in that scene because it's all done in front of a green screen obviously, and Mark Ruffalo obviously wasn't capable of doing that in real life...which is a testament to how awesome Hiddles is and for that reason alone I like that scene ok. ...but also because it's really funny)

And that whimper after the Hulk smashes him!
Did you guys hear that?
He
whimpered, poor bb.

Oh, and omg that bit on Stark Tower where Thor is all "It's still not too late, we can stop this together",
and Loki has this one moment of hesitation and you can see in his eyes that he's almost considering it, but then he snaps back to the present and is all "It's too late", because it really is and he doesn't want to back down and..

HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE NOT LOVE HIM HE'S NOT THAT EVIL A GUY, HONEST.

This is the same reason why we (I) loved Michael Fassbender as Magneto.
They play their characters so well that it allows you to psychoanalyze their characters to bits and fall in love with them.

yes.

Anyway.

Favourite quote :

An ant has no quarrel with a boot.

Especially delivered in that delicious British accent...
I'm beginning to think that it was really lucky we didn't watch this movie in 3D...I wanted to grab Hiddles and kiss him everytime he appeared on screen. I'd have been literally pawing at thin air ok omg.

BUT WHY DO THEY STILL NOT HAVE THE POST-CREDIT SHAWARMA SCENE?
WHY.

I still do not comprehend the Black Widow's superpower.
I mean she's kickass, but what exactly is her "specific skill set"?

I could've made Loki say the whole "You brought the monster" thing.
ahem.

And.

Me : Why couldn't they have gotten Robin (Cobie Smulders) to play Black Widow instead of Scarlet Johanssen??

Jea Mie : Boobs not big enough.

Valid point, ladies and gentlemen.

mm-hmm.

Probably in another post or something I'd post all the adorable Hiddles interviews so you lot can see exactly why I love him so.

I should probably stop here because I'm horribly sleepy and I want to go whine on twitter about how I have two days left before the horror that is Gynae begins.

Oh,
btw,
Walked past a Superheroes United shop today.

...not walked exactly.
More like meandered around it (because I really wanted to go in but was too shy to, for some inexplicable reason),
until I finally worked up the courage to walk in and ask the guy if they sold Loki T-Shirts (DO NOT JUDGE ME),

and he was all : Awh. No. No Loki. ...but we do have Captain America, if you-

PFFT. RACISTS.

Well, not really, but. VILLAINISTS.

PFFT.

IF YOU CAN SELL THE SUPERHERO SHIRTS WHAT ABOUT THE VILLAINS HOW COME NO ONE LOVES THEM?

OH OH ALSO.

GUESS WHAT JEA MIE BROUGHT ME TODAY!

GAME OF THRONES KEYCHAINS!
ALKSJDFSHFJDHDGH.

(I'll take a picture of them tomorrow when I have better lighting ok)

I had an excellent day today.

Honest.

Days like these don't come often. :)

p.s. Jea Mie, this is a Phil Coulson video, just for you.

  1. I really have no idea where to start except that elakjsdl;fkjla;isgiwauelfkndlkvalsdkjf;wielkdf x1,000,000

Yeah pretty much. I just saw Avengers for the THIRD TIME last night =D. Because I saw it the very first day it came out, then I saw it as soon as my fangirling soulmate got back in town, and then with my parents last night. And they loved it too!! I was so thrilled about that. My mom actually said on facebook - "One of the very few both [Dad] and I agreed we'd pay real money to see again on the big screen. Paige has been three times. Now that I've seen it, that doesn't seem excessive."

Squee!!! And I totally watched Thor because of Josh Dallas too!! But totally fell head over heels for Chris Hemsworth instead =D. That Beaniplex looks freakin awesome, I wish we had one of those. Tom Hiddleston has so much charm and charisma he shouldn't exist. I love Jeremy Renner so much. I still haven't seen the Ironman movies (THIS IS A PROBLEM) but Robert Downey Jr. is just such a boss.

I was talking to my sister about this, and I think Tom did such a fantastic job making us just long for him to be better. But the scene where he blows up at Natasha, I think, was the one scene where I thought he was despicable. Everywhere else, even when he was attacking random people in Germany, I just felt like he was still looking for that acceptance and attention that he always missed. But that one scene, he was so terrible and hateful.

My sister and I were doing so much squealing last night, though xD. And we caught so much more of the little things! Like when Pepper walked out at the beginning with Coulson, I realized they were actually talking xd. Pepper asked about the cellist, and Coulson said she'd gone to Portland, and Pepper was like "Awe! Boo!" And then later Stark was all like "Hey, I'll fly you to Portland, let you take a break". And I was liek d'awwww (:

I have a Captain America shirt and I adore it to pieces =D

    1. omg you watched it three times. Omg your parents liked it too! aaaaaaaaah! the only person in my family who likes superhero movies is my brother, but we always differ on which characters we like so :(

      The Beaniplex IS awesome! :D

hehe and omg to think I would never have watched Thor if I hadn't fallen in love with Josh Dallas, and to think I would never have fallen in love with Josh Dallas if I hadn't watched Once Upon A Time...which I would never have watched if not for YOU. So thank you thank you thank you! <3 Its technically because of you that I would up watching the Avengers and falling so madly in love with Tom Hiddleston.
Chris Hemsworth is such a darling. I've started watching some of his interview. SO ADORABLE. Such a teddy bear. :3
I wanted to watch Snow White and The Huntsman because of him, but meh..Kirsten Stewart. might still watch it though. Have you??

And omg yes that scene with the Black Widow.
Gave me goosebumps. He looked so horribly evil that eventhough we love him and we want him to redeem himself, it was like in that one scene, he had lost even the teeniest bit of human emotion. He was just pure evil. It was awful.
But I thought as an actor, Hiddles was so wonderful in that scene. It was incredible. HOW DOES THAT MAN ACT OMG.

oooh. yes! I thought that part was really cute. I only caught that the second time too. <3 RDJ being all buddy buddy with Phil Coulson about the cellist. awwwww.
I honestly think RDJ and Tony Stark are the same person. No difference at all.

      AHHHHH I WANTTTTTT. <3
