The day after Valentine's.

I am going to laugh, I swear.

I don't see why some people get so upset about Valentine's Day.
I don't see why they don't like people being all cliched and lovey dovey.

So maybe we should show our love on every other day of the year as well.
No one said the aforesaid lovey-dovey-cliched people weren't
just as loving on other days.

I mean, look at it this way.
People need a reason to buy each other gifts,
people need a reason to plan something special with their significant other,
and every now and then people need a shot of cliched romance.

And Valentine's Day is that reason.

Don't get me wrong, but it would be wholly impractical to buy someone chocolates and flowers and teddy bears every other day of the year.

And
if Valentine's Day really shouldn't be so cliched,
then how come no one complains about overpriced flowers on Mother's Day??
How come no one complains about the "I Love My Dad" mugs and t-shirts that start appearing around Father's Day??
Sure, we love and appreciate and care for our parents every single day, but we still take the excuse to celebrate on those two particular days rite?

So give all those jiwang couples a break lah.
Let them celebrate Valentine's Day holding hands and gazing into each others eyes and spending alot of unnecessary money on overpriced presents.

Iz a day for lovey-dovey-ness.

We have other days in the year specially dedicated to everyone else - Mother's Day, Father's Day, Children's Day, and heck, even Friendship Day.
And birthdays and festivals for everything else.

May the hype about Valentine's Day never die down.
=)
